Anamnesis

Mr. Wang, age 27. Fall from height at work caused paraplegia (bilateral lower limb paralysis); skin hypesthesia in lower limbs; neurogenic bladder; neurogenic rectum; thoracic spinal cord injury; right transverse process fractures L2-L5; thoracolumbar dislocation T12/L1 (L1 vertebral body anterior grade II slippage with burst fracture); left iliopsoas muscle injury; right rib fractures (T11, T12). No sensation of urination or defecation, unable to self-care, requires constant assistance.

Treatment plan

2024-01-09 — lumbar puncture, perinatal stem cells 3U, bi-weekly, 3 consecutive administrations = 1 cycle.

Outcome

After infusion, sensation of urinary and defecation urge emerged, but cannot self-control. Both lower limbs regained sensation, can perceive warm and cold; lower limb strength increased. Returned home for further rehabilitation.
