Anamnesis
Wú*Huá, male, age 68, diabetes for 20+ years, insulin therapy with unsatisfactory glycemic control. HbA1c 6.8%, fasting blood glucose 7.8.
Treatment plan
In 2023 — umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSC) 5U IV, once monthly, 3 consecutive administrations.
- Therapy
- UC-MSC (umbilical cord MSC)
- Delivery route
- Intravenous (IV)
Outcome
After one course of stem cell infusion, follow-up tests showed fasting blood glucose and HbA1c within normal range. Appetite improved, immune function enhanced, insulin dose effectively reduced. Two-year follow-up confirmed stable blood glucose control.
Physician conclusion
No adverse reactions observed. Stem cell infusion increases islet β-cell count, effectively regulates glucose and insulin levels, improves islet function, and controls insulin resistance.
