Anamnesis

Chái**, age 5, 13 kg. At age 2, after assessment and physician diagnosis, identified with autism spectrum disorder. Has been in rehabilitation centers since age 2. Pre-infusion, could communicate simple needs (drink water, eat, "I want this", "I want to sleep"), knew simple children's songs, but could not communicate with other children, did not know how to interact, eye contact remained poor. Liked to focus on objects of personal interest, played with hands, very hyperactive. No memory of what was eaten or done during the day.

Treatment plan

SchemaUC-MSC 2U IV + 1U LP monthly × 3 × 2 cycles
Therapy
UC-MSC (umbilical cord MSC)
Delivery route
Intravenous (IV)Lumbar puncture (LP)

Outcome

Need-based speech increased, can actively express thoughts and engage in daily conversation. Memory strengthened — remembers food eaten during the day and lessons taught at school, recounts to mother at home. Comprehension and cognitive skills markedly improved, emotions stable, no prior hyperactivity, occasionally initiates play with other children. Emotional connections markedly enhanced, good interaction with family, prolonged eye contact. After treatment, ABC autism behavior rating scale score decreased from 67 to 20.

Physician conclusion

No adverse reactions observed. Stem cell transplantation for pediatric autism effectively alleviates associated symptoms.
