Anamnesis

Lù**, male, age 4. At age 3, diagnosed with suspected autistic spectrum disorder. Immune dysregulation, duodenal ulcer, terminal ileitis, myocardial injury (1st-degree AV block), gut microbiota dysbiosis, allergic eczema. Allergic to eggs, milk, seafood, beef, lamb, chicken and other protein foods, as well as mango, citrus, wheat, barley — extremely difficult to feed. Emotional instability, poor sleep quality with frequent night awakenings, prone to crying, lacks independent thinking capacity, displays mechanical behavior.

Treatment plan

2022-02-26 — intravenous placental mesenchymal stem cells (P-MSC) 1U, once monthly, 3 administrations = 1 cycle.

Outcome

After 1U: emotions stabilized, crying decreased, personality became open, willing to talk with other children, new interests emerging. After 2nd infusion: appetite enhanced, energetic during the day, sleep markedly improved at night with fewer awakenings; eczema markedly resolved and did not recur. Gastrointestinal function improved, bowel and urinary function closer to normal. After 3rd infusion: essentially indistinguishable from a normal child.

Physician conclusion

No adverse reactions observed. Stem cell transplantation for pediatric autism effectively alleviates associated symptoms.
